Training and Placement policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026. This is the policy shared with every learner at enrolment. It applies to www.cokonet.com, operated by Cokonet Technologies Private Limited, Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The policy in force at the time of your enrolment is the one that applies to you.

1. Purpose and scope

This policy sets clear, measurable and fair standards for learner participation, academic performance, professional conduct, financial obligations and eligibility for placement support at Cokonet Academy. It exists to keep every programme consistent, fair and transparent.

It applies to all learners enrolled in any Cokonet Academy training programme, including classroom and offline programmes, hybrid or blended programmes, and placement-linked training programmes. It is effective from the date of enrolment and remains applicable until course completion and closure of placement support, where applicable.

2. Attendance and punctuality

Learners are expected to maintain:

  • Minimum 85% attendance to complete the course.
  • Minimum 90% attendance to be eligible for placement support.

Attendance is tracked using official academy systems, and any planned leave must be informed in advance through the designated cohort communication channel. Not meeting the attendance requirement may result in loss of placement eligibility and withholding of course completion certificates.

3. Assignments and projects

Submission of all graded assignments is mandatory. Late submissions are graded as follows:

  • On-time submission: full marks, as per the trainer rubric.
  • Within a 2-day grace period: 50% marks.
  • Beyond the grace period: 0 marks.

All capstone projects are mandatory and are assessed using predefined rubrics.

4. Assessments and examinations

  • Minimum pass score for each assessment: 70%.
  • One retake is permitted per summative assessment.
  • The retake score is capped at 85%.
  • Final examinations are conducted offline, and are monitored and proctored.

Any form of academic dishonesty may result in zero marks, disciplinary action and loss of placement eligibility.

5. Portfolio, capstone and mock interview

  • Completion of all mini-projects and capstone projects is mandatory.
  • Approved projects form part of the learner's portfolio.
  • A final capstone presentation and mock interview are compulsory for course completion and placement consideration.

6. Integrity and use of AI tools

  • AI tools may be used only for ideation or drafting, and their use must be disclosed.
  • AI use is strictly prohibited in proctored assessments and closed-book tests.
  • All submissions must be original work.

Violation may result in zero marks, disciplinary review and disqualification from placement support.

7. Professional conduct and classroom etiquette

Learners are required to maintain respectful and professional behaviour, follow trainer and academy instructions, and refrain from mobile phone usage during sessions unless permitted. Please also note that CCTV surveillance is active on academy premises, and any damage to academy assets caused by negligence will be chargeable.

8. Fees and payment obligations

Fees must be paid strictly as per the agreed payment schedule. Pending dues may result in restricted access to classes, blocking of assessments or placement activities, and withholding of certificates.

Server fees (where applicable, including SAP programmes) are separate and must be paid based on monthly or access requirements. The server validity period will not be extended, regardless of usage or non-usage during the allotted time.

9. Refunds

Learners are eligible for a 100% refund within 7 calendar days of enrolment or batch commencement, whichever is earlier, provided the eligibility conditions are met. Full details, exclusions, instalment terms and the request process are set out in our Refund policy.

10. Course change and batch transfer

Instead of a refund, a learner may request a batch transfer (subject to availability), a course upgrade or downgrade (if applicable), or a freeze and resume option (if permitted for the programme). Each learner is eligible for one batch or course transfer only. A mandatory discussion with the designated Learner Experience Personnel is required, and 100% clearance of pending fees is compulsory before approval. Transfers are subject to batch availability and trainer scheduling, and access to a new batch will not be granted until all dues are cleared.

11. Certificates

Course completion certificates are issued only after successful completion of all academic requirements and clearance of all financial dues. Certificates may be withheld in case of policy violations or non-compliance.

12. Placement support eligibility

Placement support (up to 6 months post course completion) is provided only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Attendance of 90% or more.
  • Overall performance score of 7.0 out of 10 or more.
  • 100% assignment and project submission.
  • All assessments passed.
  • Portfolio and capstone completed.
  • Mock interview completed.
  • Professional conduct maintained throughout the programme.
  • No pending financial dues.

Learners who take part in the placement process without intent to commit, or who decline an offer letter, will be excluded from further placement assistance. Placement support is facilitative in nature and does not guarantee employment.

13. Data usage and consent

By enrolling, learners consent to the collection and use of their attendance records, assessment scores, session recordings, portfolio data, and profile information including the learner's image, solely for academic tracking and placement support, in compliance with applicable data protection norms.
