How long does an SAP MM course take?
Want the batch dates first? The SAP MM course page shows modules, modes and the next classroom and online starts.
Quick answer: About 4 to 5 months for the full consultant track, which at Cokonet is around 220 hours of trainer-led classes plus project work. Weekend-only batches stretch to 5 to 6 months.
SAP MM has fewer configuration screens than FICO but more process depth: purchase requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoice verification, pricing procedures, release strategies, physical inventory and the S/4HANA changes such as Business Partner and Fiori apps. Each needs hands-on repetition, which is why a two-week crash course leaves gaps that show in interviews.
| Stage | Weeks | What you practise |
|---|
| Foundations | 1 to 3 | Enterprise structure, master data, Business Partner |
| Procure to pay | 4 to 10 | PR, PO, GR, IV, pricing, release strategy |
| Inventory and valuation | 11 to 14 | Movement types, physical inventory, split valuation |
| Integration and projects | 15 to 20 | FI and SD integration, end-to-end project, interview prep |
What decides SAP MM course fees?
Quick answer: The fee reflects live S/4HANA server access, the number of live class hours, projects, trainer experience and the depth of placement support. Mode matters less than people expect: classroom and online-live batches at Cokonet cost the same because the trainer and server are the same.
Before comparing fees, ask each institute whether server access continues after the course, whether the trainer currently works on SAP MM projects, and whether placement support ends after a set number of interviews.
What an SAP MM course fee should include
Quick answer: Live classes, server access, study material, a complete procure-to-pay project, interview preparation and placement support until you are hired. SAP certification exam fees are separate.
You can see the module list on the SAP MM syllabus page and compare it with every other programme on the all courses page at cokonet.com.
EMI, scholarships and how fees are confirmed
Quick answer: Cokonet confirms the SAP MM fee on a free counselling call, because EMI schedules and scholarships change the amount you pay and when. Most learners pay in instalments rather than up front.
Not sure yet? A ten-minute call settles the fee, the batch and whether MM or FICO suits your background. Talk to a Cokonet counsellor or call +91 8075 400 500. The first call is free and there is no pressure to enrol.
Classroom vs online SAP MM course
Quick answer: Same trainer, same server, same fee. Choose classroom in Trivandrum or Kochi if you want structure and peer practice; choose online-live if you work full time or live elsewhere in Kerala or the Gulf.
Our SAP MM online course with live classes guide explains how the online batch runs day to day.
SAP MM salary: is the fee worth it?
Quick answer: Per our SAP MM salary guide, freshers in Kerala typically start at about Rs 4 to 6.5 lakh a year, moving to Rs 7 to 12 lakh as an SAP MM consultant by years 2 to 3 and Rs 12 to 19 lakh by years 3 to 5. The course fee is usually recovered within the first year.
Demand comes from manufacturing, retail, pharma and IT services companies that run S/4HANA, plus Gulf employers who hire Kerala consultants directly.
Who should take SAP MM?
Quick answer: Mechanical, production and industrial engineering graduates, logistics and supply chain staff, B.Com and MBA graduates with an operations interest, and storekeepers or purchase executives who already know the business side. No coding is needed.
Read SAP MM for mechanical and logistics graduates if that is your background, or SAP FICO vs SAP MM if you are undecided.
A week inside an SAP MM batch
Quick answer: A typical week has three to four live sessions of about two hours, a server task after each session, and a Saturday review where the trainer walks through everyone's errors. By week six you are raising purchase orders, posting goods receipts and clearing invoice blocks on your own user.
The pattern that works for most learners: watch the trainer configure a step live, repeat it on your own client the same evening, break it on purpose, then fix it. Interviewers ask about the breaking and fixing, not the happy path.
SAP MM course syllabus checklist
Use this list when you compare institutes. A complete SAP MM syllabus should include every item:
- Enterprise structure: company code, plant, storage location, purchasing organisation
- Master data: material master, Business Partner (vendor), purchasing info records, source lists
- Procurement: purchase requisition, RFQ and quotation, purchase order, contracts and scheduling agreements
- Pricing procedure and condition techniques
- Release strategy for PR and PO
- Inventory management: goods receipt, goods issue, transfer postings, movement types, reservations
- Physical inventory and stock valuation, including split valuation
- Logistics invoice verification and the GR/IR account
- Integration with FI (account determination) and SD
- S/4HANA changes: Fiori apps, MRP Live, Business Partner
- One end-to-end procure-to-pay project with documentation
If two or more items are missing, the course will leave gaps that show up in a technical interview.
SAP MM course for working professionals
Quick answer: If you already work in purchasing, stores, logistics or accounts, choose a weekend or evening batch and expect 5 to 6 months rather than 4 to 5. Your process knowledge is an advantage: you will understand why a release strategy or a GR/IR difference matters before the trainer explains the configuration.
Plan your week around two live weekend sessions plus three or four short server practice slots on weekdays. Tell your counsellor your shift pattern; batches are scheduled around work, and learners move between weekday and weekend batches when timings change. Many professionals also keep their current job until the first SAP offer arrives, which removes the income gap that puts people off a career switch.
