SAP MM T-codes list with uses: the purchasing and inventory codes behind every procure-to-pay cycle.

SAP MM T-codes are the working vocabulary of every procurement, stores and supply-chain consultant in Kerala. ME21N to raise a purchase order, MIGO to receive the goods, MIRO to verify the invoice: that one sequence runs thousands of times a day in the manufacturing, retail, hospital and logistics companies that hire SAP MM talent in Kochi, Trivandrum and the Gulf. This reference lists the important SAP MM transaction codes by task, explains what each one does, and flags what changed in S/4HANA. It is written for learners, mechanical and commerce graduates moving into SAP, and working stores or purchase staff preparing for an MM interview.

What are the most important T-codes in SAP MM?

The most used SAP MM T-codes are MM01, MM02 and MM03 (material master), BP (vendor as Business Partner, replacing XK01), ME51N (purchase requisition), ME41 and ME47 (RFQ and quotation), ME21N, ME22N and ME23N (purchase order), ME2N and ME2L (PO lists), MIGO (goods receipt, issue and transfer), MIRO (invoice verification), MB52 and MMBE (stock overview), MB5B (stock on a posting date), MI01 to MI07 (physical inventory), ME11 (info record), ME31K (contract) and MRBR (release blocked invoices).

How SAP MM T-codes are organised

Want to run these codes on a live S/4HANA system? The SAP MM course in Kerala takes you through the full procure-to-pay cycle with every transaction below.

Quick answer: SAP MM codes start with MM for material master, ME for purchasing (requisitions, RFQs, orders, contracts, info records), MI for physical inventory, MB and MMBE for stock reports, and MIGO and MIRO for goods and invoice movements. Codes ending in 01, 02 and 03 mean create, change and display; the N suffix (ME21N, MIGO) marks the newer Enjoy screens.

Think of the list as the procure-to-pay story. Master data (material, vendor, info record, source list) comes first. Then the purchasing documents in order: requisition, RFQ, quotation, purchase order, contract or scheduling agreement. Then inventory: goods receipt, goods issue, transfer posting, physical inventory. Then invoice verification and the reports that close the loop. Learn the codes in that order and you will remember them.

SAP MM master data T-codes

Quick answer: Master data is MM01 to MM03 for materials, BP for vendors in S/4HANA (XK01 to XK03 on ECC), ME11 to ME13 for purchasing info records, ME01 for the source list and MEQ1 for quota arrangements.

The material master is the most asked master data topic in interviews. Be ready to name the views (Basic Data, Purchasing, MRP, Accounting, Costing, Storage) and explain which organisational level each one sits at.

Purchasing T-codes: requisition to purchase order

Quick answer: The purchasing chain is ME51N (requisition), ME41 and ME47 (RFQ and quotation), ME49 (price comparison), ME21N (purchase order), ME28 or ME29N (release), ME9F (output) and ME2N or ME2L to list orders.

In S/4HANA the Fiori apps Manage Purchase Requisitions and Manage Purchase Orders cover the same steps, and procurement analytics come from the Purchasing Overview page. Knowing both the GUI code and the Fiori app name is a plus in interviews.

Inventory management T-codes: goods receipt, issue and transfer

Quick answer: In S/4HANA almost all goods movements go through MIGO with a movement type: 101 goods receipt against a PO, 201 issue to a cost centre, 261 issue to a production order, 311 transfer between storage locations, 122 return to vendor. MB1A, MB1B and MB1C from ECC no longer exist.

Movement types are a favourite interview topic. 101, 102, 103 and 105, 122, 201, 261, 301, 311, 321, 541 and 543 are the ones to know with their reversals.

Invoice verification and release T-codes

Quick answer: Invoice verification is MIRO to post, MIR4 to display, MR8M to cancel, MRBR to release blocked invoices, MR11 for GR/IR account maintenance and MIR6 for the invoice overview.

T-codeWhat it doesWhen you use it
MIROEnter incoming invoice against a POThree-way match with PO and GR
MIR4Display invoice documentChecking a posted invoice
MIR7Park invoiceEnter now, post after review
MIR6Invoice overviewParked and posted invoice list
MR8MCancel invoice documentReversing an invoice

MRRLEvaluated receipt settlement (ERS)Automatic invoicing for trusted vendors
MRKOConsignment and pipeline settlementConsignment stock
MIRAFast invoice entryHigh-volume data entry
OMR6Tolerance limitsConfiguring invoice blocks

MIRO is where MM meets FI: the invoice posts to the vendor account and the GR/IR clearing account, and a price variance can hit the material or a price difference account depending on the price control (S or V). You can see how we teach that integration on the Cokonet Academy website, and compare it with the SAP FICO track on our all courses page.

Special procurement, MRP and valuation T-codes

Quick answer: Beyond standard purchasing you will meet ME2O for subcontracting stock, MRKO for consignment, MD01 and MD04 for MRP, MR21 for price changes, CKM3 for the material ledger and OMWB for valuation configuration.

Reports and tables an SAP MM consultant should know

Quick answer: The reports you will be asked about are ME2N and ME2L (open POs), ME80FN (purchasing analysis), MB51 and MB52 (movements and stock), MB5B (period stock), MIR6 (invoices) and MC$G or MCE3 (purchasing information system). The tables are EKKO and EKPO (PO header and item), EBAN (requisitions), EINA and EINE (info records), MARA, MARC and MARD (material), MKPF and MSEG (material documents) and RBKP and RSEG (invoices).

In S/4HANA the material document tables are joined in MATDOC, and much of the reporting moves to Fiori analytical apps such as Purchase Order Items by Account Assignment and Stock, Single Material. Mentioning MATDOC and the Fiori overview pages tells an interviewer you have worked on a current system rather than copying an old ECC list.

How to learn SAP MM T-codes the fast way

Quick answer: Run the procure-to-pay cycle end to end on a practice system: MM01, BP, ME11, ME51N, ME21N, MIGO 101, MIRO, F-53 and then the reports MB52, ME2N and FBL1N. Do it five times with different scenarios (stock material, consumable, service, subcontracting, consignment) and the codes stop being a list.

That is how the SAP MM course at Cokonet Academy is structured: ten modules and three capstones on a live S/4HANA system, with mechanical, commerce and logistics graduates learning the same cycles that Kerala and Gulf employers run every day. Our guides on what SAP MM is and SAP FICO vs SAP MM help you decide which module fits your background.

Public salary ranges for SAP MM roles in India start around Rs 3 to 5 lakh a year for support and associate consultants and rise with implementation experience; Gulf roles in construction, retail and oil and gas pay more. Fluency in the codes above is one of the first things an interviewer tests.
