How SAP FICO T-codes are organised
Want to practise these on a live S/4HANA system? The SAP FICO course in Kerala runs every code below on a real client with end-to-end business scenarios.
Quick answer: A T-code (transaction code) is a short command that opens a specific screen in SAP. FI codes usually start with F (FB50, F-02, FBL3N), asset codes with A (AS01, AFAB), and Controlling codes with K (KS01, KSB1, KO01). Codes ending in 01, 02 and 03 almost always mean create, change and display.
That pattern makes the list far easier to learn than it looks. AS01 creates an asset, AS02 changes it, AS03 displays it. KS01, KS02 and KS03 do the same for cost centres. Once you know a family, you know three codes at once. You type the code in the command field at the top of the SAP GUI, or search for it in the Fiori launchpad, where most FICO codes now open a Fiori app with the same purpose.
The lists below follow the order a finance team actually works: master data first, daily postings next, then payments, assets, period-end closing, Controlling and finally reporting.
SAP FI T-codes for General Ledger (GL)
Quick answer: General Ledger work lives in FS00 for accounts, FB50 and F-02 for postings, FBL3N and FAGLL03 for line items, FAGLB03 for balances and FB08 to reverse a document.
| T-code | What it does | When you use it |
|---|
| FS00 | GL account master, centrally (chart of accounts and company code data) | Creating or changing a GL account |
| FSP0 / FSS0 | GL account in chart of accounts / in company code | When you only need one segment of the master |
| FB50 | Enter GL account document (Enjoy screen) | Everyday journal entries |
| F-02 | General posting, classic screen | Complex postings with special GL indicators |
| FV50 | Park GL document | Enter now, post after approval |
| FBV0 | Post parked document | Releasing parked entries |
| FB03 | Display document | Checking any posted document |
| FB02 | Change document | Editing text or assignment fields |
| FB08 | Reverse document | Correcting a wrong posting |
| FBL3N | GL account line items | Reconciling an account |
| FAGLL03 | GL line items, new General Ledger | Line items with ledger and segment |
| FAGLB03 | GL account balances | Monthly balance review |
| FBRA | Reset cleared items | Undoing a clearing |
| F-03 | Clear GL account | Manual clearing of open items |
| OB52 | Open and close posting periods | Period-end control |
| OBYC | Automatic account determination (MM to FI) | Integration set-up with MM |
In S/4HANA the Universal Journal (table ACDOCA) holds FI and CO in one line item, so FAGLL03 and the Fiori app Manage Journal Entries show cost objects next to GL data. FBL3N still works, but FAGLL03 is the one interviewers expect you to name.
SAP FI T-codes for Accounts Payable (AP)
Quick answer: Accounts Payable runs on FK01 or BP for the vendor master, FB60 and MIRO for invoices, F-53 for a manual payment, F110 for the payment run and FBL1N for vendor line items.
| T-code | What it does | When you use it |
|---|
| BP | Business Partner (replaces FK01, FK02, FK03 in S/4HANA) | Creating or changing a vendor as a Business Partner |
| FK01 / FK02 / FK03 | Vendor master create, change, display (ECC) | Still seen on older systems |
| FB60 | Enter vendor invoice | Non-PO invoices such as rent or utilities |
| FB65 | Enter vendor credit memo | Vendor credit notes |
| MIRO | Logistics invoice verification | Invoices against a purchase order |
| F-43 | Vendor invoice, classic | Special GL postings for vendors |
| F-53 | Post outgoing payment | Single manual payment |
| F-58 | Payment with printout | Cheque payments |
| F110 | Automatic payment program | Weekly or monthly payment run |
| FBZP | Payment program configuration | Setting up house banks and methods |
| FBL1N | Vendor line items | Vendor reconciliation and ageing |
| FK10N | Vendor balances | Balance by period |
| F-44 | Clear vendor | Manual clearing |
| F-47 / F-48 | Down payment request / down payment | Advance payments to vendors |
| S_ALR_87012078 | Vendor due date analysis | Cash planning |
The single most asked AP interview question in Kerala is the F110 cycle: parameters, proposal, edit proposal, payment run, print. Be ready to explain each step and where a blocked invoice shows up.
SAP FI T-codes for Accounts Receivable (AR)
Quick answer: Accounts Receivable mirrors AP: BP (or FD01) for the customer master, FB70 for invoices, F-28 for incoming payments, FBL5N for line items, F150 for dunning and FD10N for balances.
| T-code | What it does | When you use it |
|---|
| BP | Business Partner for customers (replaces FD01, FD02, FD03) | Customer master in S/4HANA |
| FB70 | Enter customer invoice | Direct FI invoices |
| FB75 | Enter customer credit memo | Credit notes |
| VF01 / VF03 | Create / display billing document (SD) | Invoices that come from Sales |

SAP FI T-codes for Asset Accounting
Quick answer: Asset Accounting uses AS01 to AS03 for asset masters, F-90 and ABZON for acquisitions, AFAB for the depreciation run, ABAVN and ABAON for retirements, AW01N for the asset explorer and AJAB for year-end close.
| T-code | What it does | When you use it |
|---|
| AS01 / AS02 / AS03 | Create, change, display asset master | Capitalising a new asset |
| AS11 | Create asset sub-number | Additions to an existing asset |
| F-90 | Acquisition with vendor | Purchase posted directly to the asset |
| ABZON | Acquisition with automatic offsetting entry | Acquisitions without a vendor |
| AIAB / AIBU | Settle assets under construction | Capitalising a project |
| ABUMN | Transfer within company code | Moving an asset between cost centres |
| ABAVN | Asset retirement by scrapping | Writing off an asset |
| ABAON | Retirement with revenue, no customer | Sale of an asset |
| F-92 | Retirement with customer | Sale invoiced to a customer |
| AFAB | Depreciation posting run | Month-end |
| AFAR | Recalculate depreciation | After master data changes |
| AW01N | Asset explorer | Checking values and planned depreciation |
| AJAB / AJRW | Year-end closing / fiscal year change | Year-end |
| S_ALR_87011990 | Asset history sheet | Audit schedule |
In S/4HANA, new Asset Accounting posts depreciation to the Universal Journal in real time per ledger, and AFAB runs per ledger group. Mention that in an interview and you have shown you know the current version, not ECC.
SAP CO T-codes: cost centres, internal orders and profit centres
Quick answer: Controlling master data starts with KS01 (cost centre), KA01 (cost element, now a GL account of type cost in S/4HANA), KO01 (internal order) and KE51 (profit centre). Postings are read with KSB1 and KOB1, planned with KP06 and KPF6, and allocated with KSU5 and KSV5.
| T-code | What it does | When you use it |
|---|
| KS01 / KS02 / KS03 | Cost centre create, change, display | Setting up a department |
| KSH1 | Cost centre group | Hierarchies for reporting |
| KA01 / KA06 | Primary / secondary cost element (ECC) | In S/4HANA created through FS00 as GL account type |
| KSB1 | Cost centre actual line items | Analysing spend |
| KSB5 | CO documents actual | Document-level check |

Reporting and utility T-codes every FICO consultant should know
Quick answer: Beyond the module codes, consultants rely on SE16N to read tables, SU53 to diagnose authorisation errors, SM35 for batch input, ST22 for dumps, SPRO for configuration and the S_ALR reports for standard financial output.
| T-code | What it does | When you use it |
|---|
| SPRO | IMG, customising | All FICO configuration |
| SE16N | Table browser | Checking BKPF, BSEG, ACDOCA, ANLA |
| SU53 | Authorisation check | When a user gets a permission error |
| SM35 | Batch input sessions | Mass uploads |
| LSMW / LTMC | Legacy data migration | Opening balances and masters |
| ST22 | ABAP dumps | Diagnosing errors |
| SQ01 | SAP Query | Ad hoc reports |
| OBY6 | Company code global parameters | Core configuration |
| OX02 / OX16 | Define / assign company code | Enterprise structure |
| S_ALR_87012277 | GL account balances report | Trial balance |
| S_ALR_87012172 / 87012082 | Customer / vendor balances | Sub-ledger balances |
| FAGLL03H | GL line items, HANA optimised | Large data volumes |
Table knowledge matters as much as codes: BKPF and BSEG for documents, ACDOCA for the Universal Journal, SKA1 and SKB1 for GL masters, LFA1 and KNA1 for vendors and customers, ANLA and ANLC for assets, CSKS for cost centres.
How to learn SAP FICO T-codes without memorising
Quick answer: Learn by business process, not by alphabet. Run one full cycle, procure to pay, order to cash, acquire to retire and record to report, on a practice system, and write down each code as you use it. After three cycles the sixty core codes are in your fingers.
Freshers who memorise lists forget them in a week. Learners who post a vendor invoice with FB60, pay it with F-53, check it in FBL1N and find the document in FB03 remember the sequence because it tells a story. That is how the SAP FICO course at Cokonet Academy is built: ten modules, three capstones and a live S/4HANA system where you repeat the cycles until they are routine. Our guides on what SAP FICO is and SAP FICO interview questions are good next reads.
Public salary ranges for SAP FICO roles in India start around Rs 3 to 5 lakh a year for support and associate consultants, rising with implementation experience; Kerala offers from Technopark and Infopark companies sit in that band for freshers. Knowing the codes above fluently is one of the first things an interviewer tests.
